Remember how back in elementary school, we all had to write book reports. I never thought those were very useful since most everybody just cheated in writing them (ok, I confess that I used Cliffs Notes a couple of times). I figure that as part of my blogging, I should do a “book report” of each book before I move it from the Current to the Recent section of my Now Reading list in the sidebar…well, maybe just those non-fiction books that warrant some reflection. The fiction books are just for fun and personal enjoyment
.
This way, I will remember or at least have a record of what I have read, and might even help me to get more out of reading each book than just finishing it end to end (note to self, that’s called “processing”).
The book journaling idea makes sense, I was thinking about something more like that, so we’ll see what happens. I just gotta hurry up and get out this first on for In the Name of Jesus, especially now that classes are starting this week.
yeah, I’m doing something similar, but not so much a book report as a book journal. I’m going to write my thoughts down after reading each chapter, and then post it as a whole once the book is complete.
hahaha, maybe you’re right, or maybe the fact that I have read so many books without actually having learned or remembered anything from them should mean that I need to have my head examined!
cheat on book reports in school?!? never!
you’re going to voluntarily write book reports?? you need to see a shrink about that!!
